Tom Finch is an associate with PKH’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Tom focuses his practice on the enforcement of patent rights before district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Tom also counsels his clients on issues tangential to their patent rights, including related contractual disputes and other intellectual property rights. Tom has additional experience with pre-litigation diligence, validity and enforceability investigations, and freedom to operate opinions.
Prior to joining PKH, Tom was a senior associate with Alston & Bird LLP, and was an extern at NCR Corporation.
Tom has a background in software engineering. Tom developed diagnostic software for a major appliance manufacturer. In addition to his familiarity with software and embedded systems, Tom has experience with a wide range of technologies, including automotive safety products, consumer products, medical devices, telecommunications equipment, and e-commerce technologies.
He received his J.D. from the University of Georgia, graduating cum laude, and received his master of engineering in computer science from the University of South Carolina.
