USPTO 2025 Summary of Proposed Changes to Trademark Fees
The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has proposed a comprehensive set of changes to its trademark fees, set to take effect in fiscal year 2025. These changes include increases in existing fees, the introduction of new fees, and the discontinuation of several fees. This proposal aims to ensure the USPTO can adequately cover its operational costs and continue to provide efficient and effective services. Below, we’ve done our best to identify the major changes to the proposed fee changes, including increases, new fees, discontinued fees, and surcharge fees. We’ve also removed the paper fees as it is unusual these days to file trademark-related filings on paper.
For more information about the USPTO’s proposed fee changes, please visit the USPTO’s Fee Setting and Adjusting page.
A great resource for viewing the proposed fee changes provided by the USPTO are found in a PPTX file here.
